David Banis has managed the Center for Spatial Analysis and Research in the Department of Geography at Portland State University since 2006. He teaches courses on cartography and geographic information systems. His work explores the diverse ways that cartographers can tell stories with maps, with a focus on public participatory mapping.
Hunter Shobe is a cultural geographer and an associate professor in the Department of Geography at Portland State University. He holds a PhD in geography from the University of Oregon. His research explores the cultural and political dimensions of how people connect to and create meaning in different places.
