Kathleen Lane’s first work of fiction was an advertisement for dental floss. She now writes short fiction and stories for middle-grade and young adult readers. Her critically acclaimed debut novel, The Best Worst Thing, was named a Junior Library Guild Selection and received starred reviews from Publisher’s Weekly and School Library Journal, and her short stories have appeared in a number of small and obscure literary magazines and anthologies. Kathleen lives in Portland, Oregon, where she co-hosts the art and literary event series SHARE, and teaches writing through Literary Arts’ Writers in the Schools program.
