Kristen Tracy

Kristen Tracy grew up outside Yellowstone Park where she learned a lot about bears. She’s written twelve novels for young adults and young readers, including Lost ItCamille McPhee Fell Under the BusHung Up, and Project Unpopular. She has an MA in American Literature from Brigham Young University, an MFA in poetry from Vermont College, and a PhD in English from Western Michigan University. She won the Emily Dickinson First Book Award from the Poetry Foundation for her collection Half-Hazard (Graywolf Press, October 2018). Her poetry has appeared or is forthcoming in literary journals such as Poetry Magazine, the Sun, Southern Review, Threepenny Review, Prairie Schooner, and elsewhere. At one time in her life she was a college professor and an aerobics instructor. At another time she was a volunteer gardener on Alcatraz and aspiring bird docent.
