McLeod is the author of a novel, American Weather, and two collections of stories: National Treasures and Settlers of Unassigned Lands. His fiction has received a Pushcart Prize, won The Iowa Review Fiction Award, and appeared in publications including Alaska Quarterly Review, Conjunctions, DOSSIER, Five Chapters, The Georgia Review, The Gettysburg Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Michigan Quarterly Review, Salon, The Southern Review, Washington Square, and ZYZZYVA. His nonfiction has appeared in Booth, on McSweeney’s Internet Tendency, and in Hobart, with the latter being named a Notable Essay in Best American Essays 2014. A Hoyns Fellow in the MFA Program at the University of Virginia, McLeod has also received fellowships from the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown and San Jose State University, where he was a Steinbeck Fellow. He joins the MFA faculty at PSU in September 2015.
