FADE IN: FOUNDATIONS FOR SCREENWRITING

August 10-31, Thursdays, 6:00-8:00 p.m (four sessions)
925 SW Washington Street Portland, OR 97205

$195

Writing a screenplay can feel exciting and daunting. Where do you start? In this 4-part class, learn how to develop a strong foundation that will be the jumping off point for your original feature film screenplay. By putting together these foundational elements, the script will flow more easily, you’ll avoid writing yourself into a corner and you’ll have the best chance of
reaching “FADE OUT” while enjoying the creative process.

Learn more about how to craft your concept into unique, efficient and attention-grabbing logline. You’ll get to know your main character, the oppositional force and the supporting characters. You’ll use all you know about your main character, including external want and internal need, to craft an outline of your three-act screenplay that will include the major plot points. Lastly, you’ll be armed with industry-standard formatting rules, so you can dive into your screenwriting endeavor.
