Fool’s Journey: A Tarot & Dreamwork Creative Writing Workshop

March 15 - June 28, 2025, Saturdays, 10:00 a.m. - noon (16 class meetings)

$915

In this 16-week virtual series, we will journey deeply into the mysteries of the Tarot’s Major Arcana through embodied dreamwork and creative writing. Each week, we’ll engage with one or two archetypes as a portal into the personal and collective unconscious, inviting these mythic forces to help channel new writing and nourish our creative centers. Participants have the option to develop a course-long creative project—a personal tarot guide, chapbook of poetry, flash fiction collection, or any inspired creation of their choosing. As we undertake this work, we’ll create a supportive space to connect, reflect, and grow in community.

Materials list:
A tarot deck that includes a traditional Major Arcana is encouraged, but not required.
Yoga mat, cushions, pillow, etc — any comfort items to help you ease into meditation (can be on the floor or seated)
Materials for a small personal altar to use during class (i.e. candle, small meaningful objects, incense etc)
Some art supplies of your choice (crayons, markers, pastels, collage materials, colored pencils, etc) and/or journal and writing supplies, based on what kind of creative work you want to engage.

Access Program

We want our writing classes and Delves to be accessible to everyone, regardless of income and background. We understand that our tuition structure can present obstacles for some people. Our Access Program offers writing class and tuitions at a reduced rate. Most writing classes have at least one access spot available.

Please apply here for access rate tuition. Contact Susan Moore at susan@literary-arts.org if you have questions.

Stephanie Adams-Santos

Stephanie Adams-Santos is a Guatemalan-American writer from Oregon. Their work spans poetry, prose, and screenwriting. Often grappling with themes of strangeness and belonging, their work reflects an endless fascination with the weird, numinous, and primal forces that shape inner life. Stephanie is the author of several full length poetry collections and chapbooks, including DREAM OF XIBALBA (selected by Jericho Brown as winner of the 2021 Orison Poetry Prize) and SWARM QUEEN'S CROWN (finalist for a Lambda Literary Award). Their work has been anthologized in SPECULATIVE FICTION FOR DREAMERS, ATÉ MAIS (a Latinx Futurisms anthology) and a forthcoming anthology of hybrid literature and art. Stephanie served as Staff Writer and Story Editor on the television anthology horror series TWO SENTENCE HORROR STORIES (CW/Netflix). Their episode ELLIOT was winner of a 2022 Gold Telly Award in Writing. As an inaugural fellow of the 2022 Ojalá Ignition Fellowship, Stephanie developed an original fantasy pilot based on the world and characters of the Tarot. Most recently, she was a fellow of the 2022 Sundance Episodic Lab.  In addition to their literary work, Stephanie is creating and illustrating an original Major Arcana tarot deck called Tarot de la Selva.
