JACOB DARWIN HAMBLIN

Sat, March 18 from 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm PDT
168 Ecols Street South Monouth, Oregon 97361
refreshments will be served

Jacob Darwin Hamblin, 2022 Oregon Book Award winner for The Wretched Atom, will be appearing at the Monmouth Public Library as part of the Oregon Book Award Author Tour. This event includes refreshments, an author talk, and time for questions from the attendees.

“The Wretched Atom is packed with discoveries that will interest author Jacob Darwin Hamblin’s academic peers, carried along in a thrilling narrative page-turner sure to also ensnare lay readers. This exploration of the United States government’s multi-decade strategy of cloaking the testing and proliferation of thermonuclear weapons within the promise of the atom’s constructive potential is fascinating and immensely readable. Hamlin’s deep research into materials previously unexplored by scholars, and in some cases nearly unknown even to the repositories that house them, inspires and satisfies. – Paula Becker, Oregon Book Awards judge
