Natalie Diaz is a member of the Mojave and Pima Indian tribes. She attended Old Dominion University on a full athletic scholarship. After playing professional basketball in Austria, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, and Turkey she returned to Old Dominion for an MFA in writing. Her publications include Prairie Schooner, Iowa Review, and Crab Orchard Review, among others. Her work was selected by Natasha Trethewey for Best New Poets and she received the Nimrod/Hardman Pablo Neruda Prize for Poetry.
Brynn Saito was born and raised in Fresno, California, by her Korean American mother and Japanese American father. She is the author of The Palace of Contemplating Departure, winner of the Benjamin Saltman Poetry Award and finalist for the 2013 Northern California Book Award and the Milt Kessler Poetry Award. Her poems have appeared in Virginia Quarterly Review, Hayden’s Ferry Review, Ninth Letter, Pleiades, and Drunken Boat. Her second collection of poetry will be published by Red Hen Press in the Spring of 2016.
