Reality Check: J. C. Geiger & Alissa Sallah

Sat, November 13 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm PST
1010 SW Park Ave Portland, 97205

Stories about friendship, growing up, and growing apart.

In award-winning author J. C. Geiger‘s new novel The Great Big One, with natural disasters and nuclear war threatening their small town, two twin brothers find themselves enraptured by mysterious music that could change the course of their lives. But when a mission to track the source of the music alters the course of one brother’s understanding of life, which will win out: hope or fear?

In Alissa Sallah‘s graphic novel Weeaboo, it’s senior year and three friends are preparing for the big anime convention happening after graduation! Even though they’ve known each other for years, they’re finding out that reality isn’t like a cartoon, and that people grow up and sometimes apart. This is a story about appropriation, identity, and what it means to change.

With moderator Kate Ristau.
