Escape Plans: Tess Gunty & Cecily Wong

Sat, Nov 5, 2022 from 12:45 pm - 1:45 pm PDT
1119 SW Park Ave Portland, OR 97205

General Admission Pass required for entry

Stories revolving around girls search for meaning in their lives against the end of the American empire, told with (often dark) humor, tenderness, and honesty. Moderated by Kimberly King Parsons (Black Light).

Cecily Wong’s Kaleidoscope is a dazzling and heartfelt novel about two sisters caught in their parents’ ambition, the accident that brings it all crashing down, and the journey that follows. At turns devastating and funny, warm and wise, sexy and transportive, Riley’s journey confronts the meaning of freedom and travel, youth and innocence, and what it looks like to belong, grieve, and love on one’s own terms.

Portland Book Festival General Admission Passes are required for entry into all events. Passes are $15 in advance and $25 day of Festival. Youth 17 & under, or with a valid high school ID get in FREE. All full-priced General Admission Passes include a $5 book fair voucher and entry into Portland Art Museum. Passes admit attendees to the Festival; individual events are first-come, first-served. More info here.
