Friendships are tested, hearts broken, and secrets are revealed on and off the basketball court in these luminous young adult novels.
In Sloane Leong’s graphic novel A Map to the Sun, the principle players on a struggling girls’ basketball team navigate their friendships and families as they are challenged in ways that make them reevaluate just who and how they trust. And in Liara Tamani’s novel All the Things We Never Knew, two Black teenagers, Carli and Rex, discover how first love, heartbreak, betrayal and family can shape you—for better or worse.
Moderated by Lucy Feldman of TIME magazine.
