Poetry Downtown: Anne Carson
In conjunction with our 30th anniversary, Literary Arts is proud to relaunch Poetry Downtown, a three-part subscription series featuring three distinguished poets reading and discussing their work at the intimate Winningstad Theater. A question-and-answer session and book signing follow each reading.
Anne Carson is a genre-defying poet, essayist, and professor of the classics. The Paris Review calls her work “groundbreaking and insistent.” Her books include Autobiography of Red (1998), The Beauty of the Husband: A Fictional Essay in 29 Tangos (2001), and Nox (2010). The New York Times has said, “For two decades her work has moved—phrase by phrase, line by line, project by improbable project—in directions that a human brain would never naturally move.” Click here to visit the Poetry Downtown homepage.
