Pop-up: Andrea Hollander

Sat, Nov 10, 2018 from 11:15 am - 11:30 am PST

Andrea Hollander pops-up with her new book of poetry, Blue Mistaken For Sky

Hollander is paired with Portrait of Rebecca by Raphael Soyer; found in the American Art on the 2nd floor of the Portland Art Museum. Please reference the Portland Art Museum Map to find this location.

Award-winning author Andrea Hollander’s fifth full-length poetry collection explores a mature woman’s life after divorce. The poems are unselfconscious, and they detail with grace the pleasures and difficulties of aging, and the evolution of personal relationships through a life.

Andrea Hollander

Andrea Hollander is the author of five full-length poetry collections, most recently, Blue Mistaken for Sky (Autumn House Press, 2018). Her first, House Without a Dreamer, won the Nicholas Roerich Poetry Prize. Her fourth, Landscape with Female Figure, was a finalist for the Oregon Book Award. Her many other honors include two Pushcart Prizes (poetry and literary nonfiction) and two poetry fellowships from the National Endowment of the Arts. In 2011, after many years in the Arkansas Ozarks, where she ran a bed & breakfast for fifteen years and served as the Writer-in-Residence at Lyon College for twenty-two, Hollander moved to Portland, Oregon, where she conducts creative writing tutorials, seminars, and workshops.
