Sundays March 23 – April 27th (6 weeks)
5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Limited to 10 students ($275)
This workshop will focus on the success of narrative and lyric within a poem while keeping in mind ideas of restraint and concision in language, of letting go of the need to explain and contextualize ideas and images, in order for the poem to accomplish a lot in a little space.
Participants will be asked to compose at least six new short poems, all of which will receive feedback, three of which will be workshopped aloud within the group. Each week, the workshop will begin by discussing one published short poem from a contemporary poet.
