Time to Fight: Facing the Truth

A young Afro-Latina refuses to be silent in the face of a world that may not want to hear her in Elizabeth Acevedo’s The Poet X, finalist for the National Book Award. Two students at an elite prep school question the traditions that promote violence and toxic masculinity in best-selling author Brendan Kiely’s new novel, Tradition. Bina is on her own in New York City when she is forced to confront the truth she ran away from and what it means to have a second chance in bestselling author Nova Ren Suma’s A Room Away from the Wolves. Moderated by Emily Suvada, author of This Cruel Design.

Elizabeth Acevedo

Elizabeth Acevedo is the New York Times Bestselling author of The Poet X. She holds a BA in Performing Arts from the George Washington University and an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Maryland.
