Barry Lopez’s books include Arctic Dreams, for which he received the National Book Award, Of Wolves and Men, a National Book Award finalist, and About This Life, a collection of essays. He is also the author of Resistance, a collection of interrelated short stories, and Of Crow and Weasel, an illustrated fable and New York Times bestseller. He is the recipient of numerous major literary and cultural awards and his work has taken him to more than 90 countries. His essays and stories appear regularly in Harper’s, Granta, and other American and foreign periodicals. He lives in Western Oregon with his wife, the writer Debra Gwartney.
