Chinese-American Cecily Wong was born in Hawaii and has lived in Oregon, where her parents run a Hawaiian restaurant. Her novel Diamond Head grew from family stories, told to her by her parents and grandparents, shaped by the details of old Hawaii. She graduated from Barnard College, where the first pages of this novel won the Peter S. Prescott Prize for Prose (2010). She lives in New York City but nurtures a wanderlust that keeps her travelling and blogging about her trips.
Cecily Wong will give a Pop-Up Reading at 2pm in the Chinese Art Gallery (Main Building, 1st Floor).
