Helena Brantley is an avid reader works with scholars, Subject matter experts and publishers to promote adult nonfiction books. Helena began doing business as Red Pencil Publicity + Marketing in 2010, after working for HarperCollins in San Francisco, where she created and managed book publicity campaigns, including a string of national and New York Times best-sellers.
Early in her career, Helena, a New Jersey native, worked at public relations, and marketing agencies on the east coast, and ran the communications office of a small nonprofit organization that convened people from across the political and religious spectrum to help reduce poverty.
As Principal of Red Pencil Publicity + Marketing, Helena is hired by publishers and authors and she works with a growing team of subcontractors to develop and execute promotional campaigns that blend event planning and production, social media marketing, and media outreach and relations. Helena lives in Alameda, CA, with her husband and two daughters, all of whom are avid readers.
Our events, classes, and seminars bring the community together to hear, learn, and discuss the most compelling issues and ideas of our day. We hope you will join us in our downtown Literary Arts space, online, and at partnering venues across Portland and Oregon.
