Jessica Swartz Amezcua

Jessica Swartz Amezcua has been involved with Portland Early Learning Project (PELP) for the past ten years, first as an employee, and now as an owner. PELP offers a variety of programs including parent-child, preschool, and afterschool Spanish classes, plus summer Spanish camps and FREE story times throughout Portland.

After graduating from college, Jessica worked in Cuernavaca, Mexico for two years. When she returned to the US, she earned her M.A. in Latin American Studies, worked at a binational, non-profit environmental organization in San Diego, and later as a bilingual substitute teacher in the Chula Vista elementary school district.

When Jessica is not out and about teaching Spanish classes or busy being a mom to her three children, she may be found playing racquetball, singing with The OK Chorale, or attending one of the many cultural events that Portland has to offer.

Events, Classes, and Seminars

Our events, classes, and seminars bring the community together to hear, learn, and discuss the most compelling issues and ideas of our day. We hope you will join us in our downtown Literary Arts space, online, and at partnering venues across Portland and Oregon.
