Octaviano Merecias (Spanish, English, Mixtec), Portland, Oregon, is a digital visual storyteller, public speaker, trilingual writer, and seasoned educator, who works with social-emotional brain-targeted practices facilitating workshops, talks, discussion, forums, conferences, and digital-collaboratories with groups in the US and abroad. A transnational citizen, a bicultural Oregonian, was born and raised in a small village in the Mixtec mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico. Octaviano holds a Master’s Degree from the School of Language, Culture & Society at OSU and a teaching Certification focused on Higher Education issued by the Derek Bok Center at Harvard University. Mr. Merecias is a graduate student at Johns Hopkins University in the Mind, Brain and Teaching Program.
Our events, classes, and seminars bring the community together to hear, learn, and discuss the most compelling issues and ideas of our day. We hope you will join us in our downtown Literary Arts space, online, and at partnering venues across Portland and Oregon.
