Please note if you register for a Portland Book Festival workshop AFTER 10:00 A.M. Friday, November 9, you will need to show proof of payment before you pick up your wristband at the Northwest Film Center.  All workshop students can pick up their wristbands at the Northwest Film Center any time after 9:00 a.m. Saturday, November 10.  

If speech is life’s soundtrack, dialogue must be its greatest hits. Nothing marks a new writer quicker than bad dialogue. Learn how to edit and use dialogue to move your story forward and cement your characters in the reader’s mind.

Kristina Tate is an Arizona native with roots in San Francisco and New York. She holds an MFA from Columbia University, and her work has appeared in Narratively and Guernica. She is currently writing a memoir.
