Learn how to promote your book without getting overwhelmed amid the seemingly endless marketing opportunities available to authors. We’ll cover a range of marketing basics, from author websites to blogs to events, and you’ll learn how to keep the never-ending tasks of book promotion manageable. You’ll receive tips on how to promote your book on an everyday basis, whether you have ten minutes a day or two hours a day, including tips on how best to use Facebook, Twitter, and other social media.

This class is followed by Create Your Own Book Marketing Plan that class meets 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on March 28th. Participants may sign up for one or both classes. Participants who register for both classes will be given a free copy of Midge Raymond’s book,Everyday Book Marketing, when the class meets on March 28th.

Midge Raymond is the author of Forgetting English, which received the Spokane Prize for Short Fiction, as well as two books for writers, Everyday Writing and Everyday Book Marketing. Midge has worked for publishers including Penguin, Houghton Mifflin, and St. Martin’s Press, and she co-founded the boutique publisher Ashland Creek Press in 2011. Midge has taught journalism and creative writing at Boston University, Grub Street, Richard Hugo House, and San Diego Writers, among others, and her fiction and nonfiction has appeared in such publications as TriQuarterly, Bellevue Literary Review, the Los Angeles Times, and Poets & Writers.
