Oregon Book Awards submissions
The deadline for submissions to the 2018 Oregon Book Awards, and Special Awards nominations, is Friday, September 8, 2017. Books with an original publication date between August 1, 2016 and August 31, 2017 are eligible. Please see the guidelines for complete information about how to submit a book for consideration. You can pay the entry fee by check or with credit card on our box office page.

Award for Graphic Literature
The Oregon Book Award in Graphic Literature honors outstanding published work by Oregon cartoonists and graphic novelists. Books with an original publication date between August 1, 2015 and August 31, 2017, are eligible.

As part of the Oregon Book Awards, Literary Arts offers three awards that recognize significant contributions to Oregon’s literary culture:
The Charles Erskine Scott Wood Distinguished Writer Award is presented to an Oregon author in recognition of an enduring, substantial literary career. Past recipients include George Hitchcock, Ken Kesey, Ursula Le Guin and Barry Lopez.
The Stewart H. Holbrook Literary Legacy Award is presented to a person or organization in recognition of significant contributions that have enriched Oregon’s literary community. Past recipients include Doug Spangle, Kim Stafford, Barbara LaMorticella, Marlene Howard, John Laursen, and Matt Love.
The Walt Morey Young Readers Literary Legacy Award is presented to a person or organization in recognition of significant contributions that have enriched Oregon’s young readers. Past recipients include Ulrich Hardt, Carol White, Curtis Kiefer, Read to the Dogs, and Children’s Book Bank.
