Sandra is a teacher-librarian, certified in ed media, social studies, and language arts. This is her 29th year in PPS and her 6th year in the Franklin Library. Before that she taught Psychology, Global Studies, Women’s Literature, and Sophomore English at Franklin High since 1991. She has been the liaison for Franklin in the WITS program for 15 years. Some of her teaching highlights include traveling with other educators to Costa Rica, launching the FHS Slam, and co-creating Verselandia! The three years she was not at Franklin she served as the teacher-librarian at Harrison Park K-8 and at Jackson Middle School, serving also as Jackson’s writing coach and its Technology Facilitator. She has also worked as a teacher-consultant for the Oregon Writing Project and has been a frequent writer for Rethinking Schools.
Our events, classes, and seminars bring the community together to hear, learn, and discuss the most compelling issues and ideas of our day.
