Dialogues: The Craft of Writing Conversation (High School Workshop)

Sat, Nov 5, 2022 from 2:45 pm - 4:15 pm PDT
1219 SW Park Ave Portland, OR 97205

General Admission Pass required for entry

“She had spoken it; but she trembled when it was done, conscious that her words were listened to, and daring not even to try to observe their effect.”-Jane Austen, from Persuasion

In this workshop, we will write stories built around dialogue, around speech. Once written, we will perform the words aloud, seeing how they flow as an actual conversation. As our words are being read, we will listen, we will observe their effect, take notes, revise, and when we leave, we will have a draft that trembles with the sublime potential of speech.
