More Joy: Writing for Resilience

January 17 - February 7, 2024, Wednesdays, 6:00-8:00 p.m. (four sessions)

$195

What if we joined our sorrows? What if that is joy? – Ross Gay

Following in the tradition of Ross Gay, and his new book, The Book of (More) Delights, we will focus in the depth of winter
on writing about joy. Can we find joy even in our sorrows? This is a generative writing class, where most of our time will
be spent writing to prompts. At the end of our time together, we will share pieces we have pulledtogether from our shorter writings, and thus explore the lyric essay as a celebration of the fragment and the collage.

Access Program
We want our writing classes and Delves to be accessible to everyone, regardless of income and background. We understand that our tuition structure can present obstacles for some people. Our Access Program offers writing class and Delve tuitions at a reduced rate. Most writing classes have at least one access spot available.

Please apply here for access rate tuition. Contact Susan Moore at susan@literary-arts.org if you have questions.
