The Notebook and the Creative Process
$325
What is the relationship between art and life practice? Where does imagination originate in the psyche? How might the in-between spaces in the day lead to creativity later on? Does writer’s block mask resources just waiting to be tapped? These are some of the questions explored by Lynda Barry, Victoria Nelson, and Annie Dillard in their books designed to help writers deepen into their creative practice. This class is designed to help you establish habitual pathways into imagination. In addition to reviewing excerpts from these texts and engaging in their activities, class time will be spent drawing, writing, moving, and discussing daily practice and revision as you explore what moves you to step into the dream of your own poems and/or stories.
