The Self-Doubting Writer: Releasing Anxiety

September 12 - November 7, 2023, Tuesdays, 6:00-7:00 p.m. (eight sessions, no meeting September 26)

$205

Writing can be emotionally exhausting. It can have a substantial physiological effect on the body: as you imagine an emotional scene, your body will sometimes go through the experience as if it were happening. And on top of that there’s the anxiety, self-doubt, and judgment that many writers struggle with.

In this 8 week course we’ll examine where the stress lands in your body and how to release it. We’ll take charge of that nagging shoulder editor and help you dismantle the anxiety so you can write with clear, confident focus.

Some class time will be devoted to writing exercises. Additionally, please bring a short story, essay, or novel section you’d like to work on.

Access Program
We want our classes to be accessible to everyone, regardless of income and background. We understand that our tuition structure can present obstacles for some people. Our Access Program offers class registrations at a reduced rate. Most writing classes have at least one access spot available.

Please apply here for access rate tuition. Contact Susan Moore at susan@literary-arts.org if you have questions.
