Students to the Schnitz

Students to the Schnitz began with the 2010/11 season of Portland Arts & Lectures, and connects local high school students with award-winning writers. The program provides books, admission tickets, and transportation to and from the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall to more than 1,400 students. The writers also visit students in their classrooms, providing a unique opportunity for discussion in a more intimate setting.

“As someone who loves to read and write this experience was meaningful because I got to hear about the daily struggles of an author and how they think of the world and how they incorporate this into their stories.”
