This class will focus on micro-essays of 800 words or fewer. We will read and discuss some short published nonfiction then write exercises inspired by the texts. Participants should come away from the class with several new drafts of essays.

Martha Grover is the author of The End of My Career (Perfect Day Publishing), a 2017 finalist for the Oregon Book Award. She is also the author of One More for the People (Perfect Day Publishing). Her poetry, illustrations, and essays have been published in various journals and magazines. She’s been publishing her zine, Somnambulist, since 2003.
