“Lord of the Butterflies” Queer Community Write-In Specialty Drink

The Literary Arts Bookstore is hosting a Queer Community Write-In on Tuesday, July 23, 2025. We are so excited to welcome local authors from the LGBTQ+ community for an evening of co-writing and exciting drinks!

In honor of this event the Literary Arts Cafe has created a speciality drink for you to enjoy.

Lord of the Butterflies
“With notes of bergamot and vanilla, topped with a honey oat cold foam and a dusting of bee pollen, “Lord of the Butterflies “is floral and gently sweet.

Named after the works of Andrea Gibson, a very special person to many but especially the queer community. We knew we wanted to honor Andrea and not only does the name describe the drink perfectly, Lord of the Butterflies, articulates the importance of love and connection.

From Sappho associating violets with female love, to Oscar Wilde popularizing the carnation as a gay symbol, to Marsha P Johnson not leaving the house without flowers in her hair, flowers have long been a part of queer culture.”

– Miah Meyers, Food and Beverage Assistant Manager

Write-ins are community gatherings for authors to write, make connections and enjoy community. We hope you join us and try the Lord of the Butterflies for your self!
