Yallah! Muslims Write

June 18, 2025, Wednesday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. (one session)

$5

Yallah! Muslims Write is a monthly workshop with the expressed intent to foster a joyful, supportive, and courageous space for self-identifying Muslim artists.

We will begin our workshop with introductions and then move on to a discussion of a pre-selected short fiction piece; this month’s selection is The Way to Poppy Street by Rachida el-Charn—please read it ahead of time and be prepared to share your thoughts. After we complete this discussion, we’ll transition to the sharing and feedback section of our workshop. All are encouraged and welcome to share their already written stories or excerpts of larger works (five minutes total time alotted for reading) and, with permission, we as a group will give feedback. Once everyone has had the opportunity to participate, we’ll conclude with our plans for next month’s workshop and how we’ll stay engaged with each other in the meantime.

Access Program
We want our writing classes and seminars to be accessible to everyone, regardless of income and background. We understand that our tuition structure can present obstacles for some people. Our Access Program offers writing class and seminar tuitions at a reduced rate.

Please apply here for access rate tuition. Contact Susan Moore at susan@literary-arts.org if you have questions.
