Poetry and Obsession
$340
Where can obsession lead us? How can it shape our poetry in new ways? This online poetry class will focus on the idea of obsession as a driving force for writing poetry – what you, as a poet, are interested in in terms of subject, style, forms, and even research or archival work. We will explore obsession as a poetic concept, and read example poems/poets and interrogate how obsession can be a catalyst for generating writing.
Students will develop personal poetic philosophies through guided writing and in the later part of the course, generate new work engaging with a personal obsession.
Access Program
We want our writing classes and Delves to be accessible to everyone, regardless of income and background. We understand that our tuition structure can present obstacles for some people. Our Access Program offers writing class and tuitions at a reduced rate. Most writing classes have at least one access spot available.
Please apply here for access rate tuition. Contact Susan Moore at susan@literary-arts.org if you have questions.
