Mendoza Cafe, first floor
In honor of Josie Mendoza, former Wordstock Board member and donor of Literary Arts from 2015–2025
Josie Mendoza was a former Oregon Arts Commissioner, Wordstock (now Portland Book Festival) Board member, and longtime supporter of Literary Arts. A Cuban American and a lifelong reader, Josie was a strong advocate for Spanish‑language programming and Latinx writers through the growth of the Portland Book Festival. From 2015 to 2025, her support of Literary Arts affirmed the organization’s commitment to integrity, equity, and meaningful literary exchange, building a lasting impact on the organization’s mission.
