Sundays, 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. (two sessions)
taught by Kristina Tate
for writers at all levels

Individual scenes are essential building blocks to a story, and often the most neglected aspect of storytelling. Participants will study aspects of successful scenes: setting, inner structure, character, POV, movement choreography and dialogue. Students will gain experience in writing scenes by learning how to identify them, using published works to outline scene beginnings, middles, and ends, and will outline some scenes of their own.

Kristina Tate is an Arizona native with roots in San Francisco and New York. She holds an MFA from Columbia University, and her work has appeared in Narratively and Guernica. She is currently writing a memoir.
