Authors on Tour

As mentioned in the previous post, Oregon Book Awards authors Beren De Motier, K.B. Dixon, Jill Kelly and Linda Zuckerman travelled to Eugene and North Bend this week for readings as part of the Oregon Book Awards author tour. The authors are shown here after the reading at the Eugene Public Library talking to audience members at the book-signing that followed. The tour brings authors to towns across Oregon for readings, conversations and book-signings. The authors dined tonight in North Bend with Director of Library Services Gary Sharp, and conversation included discussion on the topic, “do you write on the computer or longhand?”

The bridge into North Bend is called the Conde B. McCullough Memorial Bridge and it’s quite stunning. One intrepid author started to walk across it this evening until he realized that sharing the bridge with semi-trucks was not to his liking.

The tour partners for the Eugene and North Bend readings were the Eugene Public Library, The Lane Literary Guild, and the Friends of the North Bend Public Library.

This blog posting is coming at you from a motel room on Highway 101. If you wonder why there are few embedded links in this posting, except for the bridge mentioned a few paragraphs earlier — well, when we’re on tour, that’s how we roll.
