Every in-person class and seminar at Literary Arts has one liaison position. Liaisons perform specific duties for each class meeting.  If you are a liaison for a class or seminar, the full amount of your tuition is covered by Literary Arts.

Liaisons are the first to arrive and last to leave. They arrive at least 30 minutes before the class or seminar start time each week and admit the other participants. After each class, they return the meeting space to the pre-class levels of cleanliness and order. This may include putting furniture back to its original formation, cleaning dirty dishes (unloading, loading and running dishwasher), and wiping down kitchen countertops. The teacher or guide might have other duties that they assign.

If you have already trained to be a liaison, you will be notified about available class offerings and given a chance to sign up about a month before the start of classes for each new season/quarter.

If you have not yet trained to be liaison, please continue reading the instructions below.

To be a liaison, you must first attend one in-person liaison training session at Literary Arts. There will be two training sessions offered per quarter, about two months before the start of that quarter’s classes. (e.g. Liaison trainings will be offered in July for Fall classes, October for Winter classes, January for Spring classes, and March for Summer classes.)

If you are interested in being a liaison, here are the steps to follow:

  1. Complete the application form below and indicate which liaison training session you’d like to attend.
  2. Attend one liaison session at Literary Arts.
  3. Once you have completed training, you will be added to the liaison pool, and emailed one month before the start of each quarter with a list of classes and Delve readers seminars that you can sign up for. Liaison spots will then be assigned by the Programs for Writers Associate Manager based on interest and availability.

Contact Alexa Winik at alexa@literary-arts.org if you have questions.
