As director of public programs, Amanda curates and directs the annual Portland Book Festival, as well as Portland Arts & Lectures and various special events, and The Archive Project radio show and podcast. Prior to joining Literary Arts in 2015, she was director of public programming at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, a nonprofit social enterprise in downtown New York City, where she curated, publicized, and produced 200+ events annually. She is the co-founder of Moby-Dick Marathon NYC, and has worked as a bookseller and in book production.
Our events, classes, and seminars bring the community together to hear, learn, and discuss the most compelling issues and ideas of our day. We hope you will join us in our downtown Literary Arts space, online, and at partnering venues across Portland and Oregon.
