David Shipley

David Shipley is editor-at-large at The New York Times. Over the last 30 years, he has held several senior leadership roles in journalism, including running the opinion sections at The Washington Post and Bloomberg Opinion, and serving as Deputy Editorial Page Editor and Op-Ed Page Editor at The New York Times. He also worked in the Clinton Administration as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Presidential Speechwriter. Shipley is the co-author of Send, a book about email. He was born and raised in Portland, Oregon
