Jennifer Pons

Nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize, a finalist for the Patricia Goedicke Prize and the Pamet River Prize, a semifinalist for the Perugia Press Book Prize and the Black River Chapbook Competition, and longlisted for Omnidawn's Chapbook Contest and the Brick Road Poetry Prize, Jennifer Pons’ poems appear in Pinch, Ninth Letter, Portland Review, West Trade Review, Red Rocks Literary Review, CutBank, and others. She holds an MFA in Poetry from the University of Arizona where she also received a teaching fellowship and worked as an outreach writing artist in Tucson Public Schools. More recently she earned a second MFA in Poetry from Seattle Pacific University. Originally from Chicago, she was a high school English teacher for many years. She lives in the Portland area with her family and now teaches writing at Clackamas Community College. There she is an Associate Editor of Clackamas Literary Review and a member of the planning committee for the annual Compose Creative Writing Conference every Spring.
