Kathleen Lane’s first work of fiction was an advertisement for dental floss. She now writes short fiction and stories for middle-grade and young adult readers. Her critically acclaimed debut novel, The Best Worst Thing, was named a Junior Library Guild Selection and received starred reviews from Publisher’s Weekly and School Library Journal, and her short stories have appeared in a number of small and obscure literary magazines and anthologies. Kathleen lives in Portland, Oregon, where she co-hosts the art and literary event series SHARE, and teaches writing through Literary Arts’ Writers in the Schools program.
Our events, classes, and seminars bring the community together to hear, learn, and discuss the most compelling issues and ideas of our day. We hope you will join us in our community space and bookstore at 716 SE Grand Avenue, Portland, OR, online, and at partnering venues across Portland and Oregon.
