Marjorie Sandor is, most recently, the editor of an international anthology of short fiction, The Uncanny Reader: Stories from the Shadows (St Martins Press). She is also the author of four books, including Portrait of my Mother, Who Posed Nude in Wartime, winner of the 2004 National Jewish Book Award in Fiction. Essay collections include The Late Interiors: A Life Under Construction and The Night Gardener: A Search for Home, which won the 2000 Oregon Book Award for literary non-fiction. Her work has appeared in such journals as The Georgia Review, AGNI, and The Harvard Review, and has been anthologized in Best American Short Stories, Pushcart Prize and elsewhere. She lives in Corvallis, Oregon, where she teaches in the MFA program at Oregon State University.
Our events, classes, and seminars bring the community together to hear, learn, and discuss the most compelling issues and ideas of our day. We hope you will join us in our downtown Literary Arts space, online, and at partnering venues across Portland and Oregon.
