Mayra Arreola

Mayra is Deputy Director of Literary Arts, a community -based arts organization with a 40-year history of serving the state’s readers and writers. Previous to this role, she was the Chief Shared Prosperity Officer at the Port of Portland.
She also worked at the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) - Office of Enhancing Student Opportunities as Director of Resource Management and Operations, and also held leadership roles at Prosper Portland and United Way of the Columbia Willamette.
In addition Mayra is a current board member of the Portland Opera, the Regional Arts and Culture Council (RACC) and Hacienda CDC. She holds a master’s in public administration from Portland State University and the Chief Human Resources Officer program certification from Wharton University.
Mayra was born and raised in Mexico and came to the US as a young professional. She lives in Portland with her wife and two children.
