Rebecca Clarren is an award winning writer who has been writing about the American West for more than twenty years. Her journalism, which is frequently supported by the Fund for Investigative Journalism, is published in The Nation, High Country News and Ms. Her debut novel Kickdown was a finalist for the PEN/Bellwether prize. Her current project is a book of creative non-fiction for Penguin Books. She lives in Portland with her family.
