SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT: VISUAL POETRY
$330 (includes materials fee)
Visual poetry makes imagery literal. At the intersection of written expression and visual art, this hybrid genre explores/subverts/complicates how readers and writers arrive at meaning—it asks us to enter poetry from new angles, to look at language as it exists beyond the stanza. The creative process of visual poetry is also wonderfully playful and can complement any writer’s practice.
Over the course of this six-week workshop, writers can expect to generate four new poetry experiments, one complete visual poetry project, and leave the workshop with a working knowledge of this exciting genre.
No previous visual art or poetry experience necessary to experience success and growth in this course. Supplies will be provided.
