In My Closet

As a child I had a secret hiding place
In the back of my closet
Sitting and waiting for someone to find me,
Knowing they never would.
In the back of my closet,
I wonder if they are searching for me,
Knowing they never would,
I begin to cry.
I wonder if they are searching for me,
Do they even know I’m gone?
I begin to cry,
The dark scares me sometimes.
Do they even know I’m gone?
As a child I had a secret hiding place,
The dark scares me sometimes,
Sitting and waiting for someone to find me.
