In a first for the WITS program, Grant High School had two consecutive nights of end-of-residency readings at Broadway Books. WITS placed two writers-in-residence (Ismet Prcic and Alexis Nelson) at Grant to teach in five 9th grade classes, and the teachers taught the remaining 9th graders who didn’t have a WITS writer in their classroom. The end result was two full evenings–full of great writing, nervous/excited readers, and their parents, friends, teachers, and community supporters. Thanks to everyone who works so hard to make the WITS student readings such a fun part of every fall and spring!
