Bank of America returns as the Title Sponsor of the Portland Book Festival 2020

Literary Arts is proud to announce the return of Bank of America as our Title Sponsor for the 2020 Portland Book Festival. We are so grateful for Bank of America’s support, with special thanks to Roger Hinshaw, Bank of America’s Market President for Oregon and SW Washington. Bank of America’s leadership in our community and continued support of Literary Arts helps inspire a better, more inclusive world through the power of storytelling.

As the Title Sponsor of the Portland Book Festival, Bank of America is making an important statement about the value of the arts as a means for social change. At Literary Arts, we believe that by continuing the Festival in this new virtual format, we are creating the space for this value to be realized. This year the Festival will be free to attend. Lead sponsors, like Bank of America, help ensure the Festival is accessible because our whole community deserves the chance to participate in these conversations around some of the most pressing issues of our time.

“The Portland Book Festival is an enduring community enrichment event,” said Roger Hinshaw, Bank of America’s Market President for Oregon and SW Washington. “While we will miss gathering at the Park Blocks, returning as the title sponsor of this year’s virtual event is a demonstration of Bank of America’s commitment to advancing economic and social progress through partnerships with organizations like Literary Arts. Through their storytelling efforts, we can be united across cultures, experiences, and ideas. We applaud their efforts, and this year’s event is a model of Oregonians’ resilience and desire to connect and learn from one another so we may continue to grow, evolve, and thrive together.”

Bank of America is committed to supporting the work of nonprofits who strive to make the local community a better place to live, especially those nonprofits focused on workforce development and education, basic needs and community development, and economic development and social progress. They have been serving Oregon for more than 120 years, and have given more than $6 million in support to Oregon nonprofits since 2015. Literary Arts is delighted to be counted among the many deserving community organizations involved with Bank of America. For more information about their work in the community, please visit www.bankofamerica.com/oregon.

Andrew Proctor, the Executive Director of Literary Arts, remarked, “We are very grateful to have Bank of America back as our Title Sponsor for the fourth year. In a very challenging funding environment, their enduring support is especially meaningful. Bank of America understands that there is a transformative power in making connections between people in our community. We want to thank them for making such an important investment in our work and helping us produce a civic event that reminds all Oregonians of what we have in common: stories. Our communities are stronger and more resilient because of their leadership support.”

This year’s Portland Book Festival will take place online. Join us: November 5-21, 2020.
