Internship Opening: Portland Book Festival Event Intern

Literary Arts seeks an Event Intern to assist the Public Programs department with the preparation and execution of the 2022 Portland Book Festival. Applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Full position description and information on how to apply here.

POSITION: Portland Book Festival Event Intern

DURATION: Ideally, this internship would start in late August, but will start no later than mid-September, and last through mid-November 2022, 8-10 hours a week.  The internship would take place during regular business hours at Literary Arts at 925 SW Washington, and at our festival venues on the SW Park Blocks. This is an in-person internship.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Pre-event support, including administrative duties such as database input and upkeep, marketing and web support, volunteer training and coordination, communications with vendors and event partners, and more
• Day-off event support such as troubleshooting, coordinating volunteers, vendor support, and more
• Must be available all day on Friday, November 4 and Saturday, November 5, 2022

QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will have a demonstrated interest in learning more about the nonprofit arts sector and large-scale event production. Qualifications include exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to make decisions and solve problems in a busy, event environment.

COMPENSATION: This internship includes a stipend of $2,000, paid out in monthly increments.
