Ticketing and Advance Box Office information for the 2024 Portland Book Festival

All Portland Book Festival events require a General Admission pass (wristband) to attend, including the two premium ticketed events at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall. You must pick up your wristband before entering into any Portland Book Festival venue or event. You can purchase and pick up your wristbands at the Box Office tent opposite the Portland Art Museum (Mark Building, 1119 SW Park Ave.) on the day of the festival, starting at 8:30 a.m. If picking up the day of, we recommend showing up at least a half an hour before the first event you plan to attend, to account for lines. Instead, we recommend purchasing your passes in advance to save $7 and picking up your wristbands in advance, to skip the lines at the Box Office the day of the festival

BUYING PASSES

  • Get your Portland Book Festival passes online before 11:59 p.m. on Friday, November 1, for just $18 (includes Portland Art Museum entry and a $5 voucher to use at the book fair).
  • Passes cost $25 when purchased the day of the festival at the Box Office tent. Lines can be long, so plan to arrive at least half an hour before the first event you want to attend.
  • For veterans, active military and youth 17 & under (or with a valid high school ID), passes are FREE. Please plan to show proof of ID when you pick up your wristband.
  • $5 Arts for All passes are available for those with SNAP/ Oregon Trail cards. Please plan to show proof of card when you pick up your wristband.
  • After purchasing passes online, an email will come from portland5@paciolan.com with the subject line “Your mobile tickets for your Portland’5 Event have arrived.” Please present this email, or save these e-tickets to your phone, when picking up your wristbands.

PICKING UP YOUR WRISTBANDS

Once you have purchased your passes online, you will need to get a wristband before entering into any Portland Book Festival venue.

  • Pick up your wristband at our Advance Box Office at Portland’5 Centers for the Arts’ Antoinette Hatfield Hall: 1111 SW Broadway, Portland. The Advance Box Office is open Wednesday, October 30, Thursday, October 31, and Friday, November 1, from noon–6:00 p.m

  • If you have purchased passes in advance and plan to pick up your wristband the day of the festival on Saturday, November 2, please go to the Box Office tent outside the Portland Art Museum (Mark Building: 1119 SW Park Ave). The Box Office tent opens at 8:30 a.m. Please plan to arrive at least half an hour before the first event you want to attend.

There are three add-on events that require tickets as well as a General Admission pass (wristband) to attend. You must still pick up your festival wristband before you can enter into any of these events.

Celebrate 10 years of Literary Arts hosting the Portland Book Festival by joining us on the evening of Friday, November 1, for an exclusive preview of the exhibitor fair. Enjoy complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres and treat your shelf with early access to the many book sellers and vendors!

Readers Night is an opportunity to show your love for Literary Arts, meet other dedicated book lovers, and extend your Festival weekend! All ages welcome.

While this event is free, we kindly ask you to register for tickets as space is limited. Please also consider one of the suggested donation levels to support Literary Arts and our programs, including Portland Book Festival.

ADD-ON EVENTS TICKETING INFO

An e-ticket will be sent from portland5@paciolan.com with the subject line “Your mobile tickets for your Portland’5 Event have arrived.” You MUST pick up a wristband before you can enter this festival event, in addition to presenting your e-ticket. (See above for Advance Box Office times, or plan to arrive to the Box Office tent the day of the festival no later than 9:30 a.m. for wristband pickup.)

For those who purchased the family pass or $20 ticket, a copy of Show Up and Vote will be available will be available for pick up at the venue before the start of the event in the lobby of the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall.

UMBRELLA PASS INFORMATION

If you want to simplify your full Portland Book Festival experience, we recommend purchasing an Umbrella Pass, which includes:

  • A General Admission pass for festival day on Saturday, November 2
  • Entry into the Portland Art Museum on Saturday, November 2
  • A $5 book fair voucher (can be used Friday or Saturday)
  • A copy of Show Up and Vote by Ani DiFranco, and a ticket to her 10:00 a.m. event at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall on Nov. 2
  • A copy of Playground by Richard Powers, and a ticket to his 12:00 p.m. event at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall on Nov. 2
  • A Literary Arts tote bag

An e-ticket for all included events will be sent from portland5@paciolan.com with the subject line “Your mobile tickets for your Portland’5 Event have arrived.” You can download these e-tickets to your phone.

You will still need to pick up a wristband for entry into any of Saturday’s Portland Book Festival events, along with your e-tickets. Wristbands and tote bags will be available to pick up at the Friday Readers Night. You can also pick up your wristband and tote bag at the Advance Box Office (see above for date/s and time/s.)


HOW TO PICK UP YOUR WRISTBAND ON FESTIVAL DAY

The Box Office tent opens at 8:30 a.m. Please plan to arrive at least half an hour before the first event you want to attend.

HOW TO BUY PASSES ON FESTIVAL DAY

You may still purchase tickets on Saturday, November 2, however the price for adults raises to $25. Please go to the Box Office tent outside the Portland Art Museum (Mark Building). The Box Office tent opens at 8:30 a.m. Please plan to arrive at least half an hour before the first event you want to attend.

A satellite box office located at The Judy (1000 SW Broadway) will be open for wristband pickup and sales with limited hours, from 9:30 a.m. — 2:00 p.m.

Please note: ALL attendees must pick up a wristband before entering any festival venue. We recommend you pick up your wristband in advance; if you pick up day-of, we recommend arriving at least thirty minutes prior to the first event you want to attend to visit the box office and pick up your wristband.
